Q:
What protocol is needed to drive the player via the I/O port using the external remote keypad?
A:
The protocols utilized are RS-232C or RS-232TTL level (switchable), Baud rate 4800, n. 8, 1. Protocol commands available upon request.

Do you offer a rack mount bracket for the DVD players?
A:
At this time, we do not offer this as a standard accessory.

Q:
What is the output VGA resolution and frame rate when playing a PAL or NTSC DVD?
A:
The available resolutions and frame rates are listed below:
Max. VGA NTSC/ PAL output: 640 x 480/ 60Hz
Component Video: 480i / 480p
Composite Video: NTSC/60Hz/505 lines; PAL/50Hz/625 lines

Q:
Can any computer-monitor be connected to the VGA-Output or are there restrictions?
A:
You may connect the DVD-2000 VGA output to any computer monitor that support resolutions 640 x 480 / 60Hz

Q:
What is the Composite video resolution specifications for DVD-2000 players?
A:
Component video: 480i / 480P.
Composite video: NTSC /60Hz/ 525 lines. PAL/50Hz/625 lines.

Q:
How do you switch from NTSC to PAL and visa versa ?
A:
The DVD-2000 can support 5 video modes with auto disc format sensing capabilities. The following are the supported video formats:
NTSC, PAL, PAL 60, PAL M.
NOTE: If your monitor supports NTSC/PAL auto-switchable, we can setup at "AUTO" mode, then both the NTSC and PAL DVD can be played normally.

The following are instructions to setup the desired video output mode:
1) Power the player with no disc inserted OR you may have the unit’s tray "OPEN".
2) Select the "SETUP" button on the remote controller, it will display the following "Language", "Video", Audio" "More Aud', "Parental" modes.
3) Press the "RIGHT" button from the directional keypad, select "Video" mode and press "Enter".
4) Select the "DOWN" arrow button to select the "TV system" mode and press "Enter". This will display m modes of "NTSC", "PAL", "PAL 60", "PAL M", or "AUTO", for selection.
5) Press the "UP" or "DOWN" arrow button to make your selections followed by the "Enter" button to confirm your selection.
6) To confirm your selection, press " SETUP" button again to exit setup menu.

What are the digital output specifications?
A:
44.1~192 kHz, 16~24-bit Linear PCM output, COAX.

Q:
Can a DVD-2000 perform the following tasks with a DV-66K:
1. Display a menu onscreen at all times
2. A button push (contact closure using the DV-66K) will play a track on the DVD.
3. Upon completion of the track, the Menu will appear so customer can select again.
  A:

Try to author a DVD-ROM with the format suggested below, then you can use DVD-2000 and DV-66K to perform the desired functions

- One Title for multiple chapters. (Maximum 8 chapters if selected by DV-66K).
- All chapters should be with a "Return to menu" command when it ends playing. (Like all the Karaoke DVDs).
- Single menu (Single layer menu) with all (8) the selection items on it.

note: DV-66K can support up to 99 tracks by using a ribbon cable. The 8 switches on DV-66K PCB are designed for the purpose of easy testing not limitation.

Q:

Why is the component output on the display looks so red?

 
A:
For component output, user required to use the [Set Up] button on the remote, with no DVD disc in the tray or have the DVD stop playing, press [Set Up], select [Video] to [Video Output] and select [YUV] for component output. This should eliminate the red color on the screen.

Why is the image is getting distortion on the display on component output?
 
A:

With component output connected, if the user pressed the [P] button once on the remote it will changes the mode to S-video output or Composite output, this could generate distorted images. In order to clear the display from distorted images, please press [P] button twice to have the correct image.

How do I change the video output from composite to VGA?
 
A:
Please press [P] button twice on the remote to switch from composite output to VGA output.

Q:

I want to control the DVD-2000 with the DV-66K/DV-66U, what are the settings I need to change on the DVD-2000?

 
A:
DVD-2000 can support both RS-232C (12V) and RS-232 TTL (5V) with an inner jumper sets. DVD-2000 unit standard package has default setting as RS-232C (12V level), because most customers using the unit controlled by their server. For DVD-2000 controlling with DV-66K or DV-66U the required setting should be RS-232 TTL (5V level). Depending on your control unit, please indicate which jumper settings is required while placing an order. If you have problems setting up your current unit, please email our tech support for the detailed jumper setting.

Q:
Is it normal for LED flashing all the time?
 
A:
Yes, it is normal. We used the LED as an indicator for ON and OFF position.

Q:
The “Play” icon shows up on the upper left hand corner each time a chapter plays. How do I turn the “Play” icon off?
 
A:

To turn off the “Play” icon, please do the following:

1.  Power up the unit without any DVD inserted.
2.  Press the [Setup] button
3.  Select "Language" with return key.
4.  Use the down arrow key goes down to "OSD"
5.  Press return key to turn "OFF"
6.  Press the [Setup] button exit to main screen.

Q:
I don't want the DVD-2000 logo start up screen to show up on my player, is there anyway I can remove it?
 
A:

For large quantity purchase we can customize your own logo screen with our player; but for those with small quantity purchased, we can upgrade the firmware on the player so that you can have a black screen without our DVD-2000 logo screen. Please send your black screen request to tech@medeawiz.com.
